Flower FAQs
Can I be with my child during procedures and treatments?
Parents are welcome, but not required, to be with their child during treatments. You may prefer to wait outside and comfort your child after the procedure. Our nurses are available to help you decide what is best.

Can my child play sports?
You should consult with your primary hematologist, because sometimes certain activities should be avoided because of risk of bleeding.

Where can I donate blood?
Your child may require blood, platelet or plasma transfusions. In some cases, you may be able to donate blood for your child at the blood bank located in the main lobby at Children's Hospital Boston. If you would like to donate blood, our nurses will speak with you about the procedure.
