Diagnosis
Some diagnostic tests your child may receive to check for the presence of abnormal and excessive immune cells include:
  • Biopsy of affected tissue, such as bone, bone marrow, skin, lymph node and/or liver
  • Blood samples including blood counts, tests of liver and/or immune system function
  • Urine analysis
  • X-rays of bones (also called "skeletal survey")
  • Bone scan
  • Imaging of head (CT and/or MRI scan)
  • Genetic tests (if indicated)
