In the pediatric setting clots are rare, but are most often are seen in patients with complex medical problems. Clots are sometimes found incidentally, but most often a patient will develop clinical signs or symptoms. After symptoms are evaluated the clot is confirmed through the use of imaging tests which may include ultrasound, MRI and CAT scan, or venogram.
