Thalassemia symptoms vary widely depending on the specific type of illness. Milder forms of the disease may cause no symptoms or ones such as fatigue and lethargy that are similar to anemia. More severe forms of the illness cause symptoms such as extreme fatigue, pale skin, fussiness, poor growth, and poor appetite in infancy.
