Our Mission
The mission of The Center for Inflammatory Bowel Disease Treatment and Research at Children's Hospital Boston is to offer patients the finest quality of health care available.

As a leading referral center for pediatric IBD, our Center is committed to discovering the causes of, and improving the treatments for, Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.

Additionally, through education and training we ensure that pediatric IBD specialists of tomorrow are equipped to carry on our goal of excellence. Our work is guided by our belief that children and young adults with IBD deserve to live a happy and unhindered life.

Comprehensive Care Plan
Comprehensive care in an integrated program provides the best approach to keeping patients with IBD active and feeling well. The children, adolescents and young adults seen in The Center for Inflammatory Bowel Disease leave our clinic with a complete therapeutic plan. Each patient's plan may include medications, surgery, endoscopic or experimental therapy.
Complex Second Opinion Consults
Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis are two of the diseases which are characterized as Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Our clinic understands parents' doubts and concerns about their child's diagnosis, and embraces the opportunity to aid families with the proper guidance.

Patients are often referred to our clinic for second opinion consults. When our physicians are prepared with current films, slides and clinic notes they are able to take a fresh look at a patient's situation and offer insight into the diagnosis and management.
