The Vascular Anomalies Center has three directors:
(in alphabetical order)
Image Steven J. Fishman, M.D.
Dr. Fishman, a pediatric surgeon, specializes in the care of patients with vascular anomalies of the viscera (internal organs), torso, neck, legs and anogenital area. He has extensive experience with debulking procedures, and has particular interest in Klippel-Trenaunay Syndrome and Gorham disease.
Image Judah Folkman, M.D.
As the Scientific Director of the Vascular Anomalies Center, Dr. Folkman led an active program of laboratory research aimed at better understanding vascular biology. Dr. Folkman was known worldwide for his discovery that tumors are dependent on angiogenesis (new blood vessel formation) for their growth.
Image John B. Mulliken, M.D.
A pediatric plastic surgeon, Dr. Mulliken's primary focus is the management of patients with craniofacial vascular anomalies. He is internationally recognized as the "founding father" of the field of vascular anomalies. He is a premier diagnostician of vascular anomalies and a stickler for proper and consistent word usage in this field.
