Judah Folkman, M.D.
As the Scientific Director of the Vascular Anomalies Center, Dr. Folkman led an active program of laboratory research aimed at better understanding vascular biology. Dr. Folkman was known worldwide for his discovery that tumors are dependent on angiogenesis (new blood vessel formation) for their growth.
