Nurse Practitioner Clinic

There are many different types of vascular anomalies, ranging from simple infantile hemangiomas to complex combination vascular malformations such as Klippel-Trenaunay syndrome. For more complex vascular anomalies, an evaluation by Boston Children's Hospital's multidisciplinary group of specialists is important. For other simple vascular anomalies, a specialized nurse practitioner can provide a timely clinical evaluation. 

Our Nurse Practitioner Clinic is intended to help patients both new and familiar get more efficient access to the expertise of the Vascular Anomalies Center. During this clinic, a patient will meet with one of our highly experienced nurse practitioners with specialized expertise in vascular anomalies. This nurse practitioner will:

• perform a clinical evaluation
• provide a diagnosis
• discuss possible treatment

The education provided by the nurse practitioner will help you to understand your or your child’s diagnosis and will help to allay fears and empower you as a patient or parent.

During the clinic evaluation, the Vascular Anomalies Center nurse practitioner may determine that a consultation with one or more Vascular Anomalies Center physician specialists is in the best interest of you or your child. The nurse practitioner may be able to arrange a physician consultation on the spot or schedule a follow-up appointment for another time.
