The services of the Vascular Anomalies Center at Boston Children's Hospital can be accessed through the Vascular Anomalies Center's clinic, through contact with the Center's physicians or contact with the Vascular Anomalies Center's office personnel.

Patients are seen in the clinic -- by appointment -- by members of the Vascular Anomalies Center staff.

Appointments and consultations may be scheduled with specific physicians through you or your physician's contact with our center.

How to Make an Appointment

If you reside in the United States:
To schedule an appointment or consultation or for assistance with selecting a physician, please contact the Vascular Anomalies Center's Administrative Director/Coordinator.

If you reside outside the United States:
Please contact the International Services, which provides interpreter services and assistance with immigration and customs, hotel or housing reservations, and financial arrangements.

What to Bring to Your Appointment

Patients being seen in the Vascular Anomalies Center clinic or by one of the center's physicians are asked to bring or send the following before their appointment:

Medical history information
Imaging studies (MRI/CT/US/Venograms, etc). These can be either actual films or studies placed on CD. The CD MUST be formatted in either DICOM or efilm.
All imaging studies must be accompanied with their respective paper reports.

The Vascular Anomalies Center offers pulsed dye laser therapy through Boston Children's Hospital at Lexington. This non-invasive laser treatment effectively treats a variety of vascular anomalies, including:

telangiectasias
port wine stains
involuted hemangiomas

This procedure is performed by Marilyn Liang, MD, a dermatologist who is also a member of the Vascular Anomalies team. Endovascular laser by the interventional radiologists is used for certain venous malformations.
