Faculty and staff from the Dept. of Psychiatry
The Department of Psychiatry at Children's Hospital Boston strives to provide the highest quality of mental health services for children and their families.

Established more than 50 years ago, we have grown to include outpatient, inpatient, pediatric consultation and community clinical programs.

In addition, we have mental health clinicians working within the Departments of Anesthesia, Cardiology, Medicine, Neurology, Nursing and Otolaryngology at Children's.

Each year we provide critical clinical and preventive services to the Boston community and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, including approximately:

  • 14,000 outpatient visits
  • 800 medical consultations
  • 400 inpatient admissions
  • 2,000 community visits
Our Services

We are dedicated to working with the most difficult and challenging emotional problems including patients with physical illnesses, neurobehavioral disorders and mood disorders.

We are strongly committed to family-centered care that is solution-focused. We want to reduce the target problem(s) that have brought about a child's or adolescent's difficulties and help them have healthy development.

Our treatment efforts are guided by accepted practice parameters and interventions.
We use individual, family and group treatment approaches.

Our Vision

We strive for excellence - to be a national leader in child and adolescent mental health care.

Our Mission

In partnership with others in our community, we will provide excellence and leadership in clinical care, education, research and mental health advocacy for children and their families.
