Our leadership team
Plastic Surgeon-in-Chief: John G. Meara, MD, DMD, MBA
Dr. Meara is chief of Plastic Surgery at Boston Children's Hospital and associate professor of Surgery and of Global Health and Social Medicine at Harvard Medical School.
Here at Boston Children's, Dr. Meara has worked closely with colleagues to improve clinical care and education through comprehensive and cross-disciplinary approaches to the evaluation and management of patients with complex conditions like cleft lip and palate and craniofacial anomalies. He has been on numerous medical missions, and has a particular interest in the global surgical burden of disease and improving health outcomes globally.
Oral Surgeon-in-Chief: Bonnie L. Padwa, DMD, MD
Dr. Padwa is chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Boston Children's Hospital and associate professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Harvard Medical School and Harvard School of Dental Medicine.
Her practice at Boston Children's includes pediatric oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthognathic surgery, cleft lip/palate and craniofacial surgery. A major focus of Dr. Padwa's practice is cleft and craniofacial anomalies and studying outcomes related to facial growth in these conditions. She coordinates a weekly combined craniomaxillofacial conference at Boston Children's and serves on many related committees, both nationally and internationally.
