Interested applicants may apply to observe for a maximum of one month; however observership is limited to two physicians at a time. If we cannot accommodate your desired time, you will be contacted by a representative from the Department of Plastic Surgery with potential alternate times.

Observers are defined as individuals who desire to tour and observe the facilities of the Department of Plastic Surgery affiliated with Children's Hospital Boston. Observers are strictly limited to the practice of observation and do not partake in direct clinical activities.

In addition to shadowing day to day practices, observers may also be invited to watch surgical procedures. Observers may also have the opportunity to attend different conferences; as well as utilize all of the resources found in Harvard Medical School and Children's Hospital Libraries.

There are several steps to applying to visit at Children's Hospital Boston, including both the online registration and a paper application. Please note that all applicants may be subject to a background check.

Please note that there are two different applications, one for domestic and one for international visitors. The correct form will be emailed to the visitor if the requested time is available. All application materials, as well as any application questions should be directed to:
