The Division of General Pediatrics at Children's Hospital Boston seeks to enhance the lives of children and families locally, nationally, and internationally through outstanding clinical care, teaching, research, and community service.
To accomplish this mission, the Division strives to:
- Provide a full range of state-of-the-art inpatient and outpatient clinical services for children and their families to optimize health and well-being.
- Provide exceptional training to students, residents, fellows, post-doctoral fellows, and other clinicians, researchers, and educators.
- Conduct groundbreaking research on important issues relevant to children, families, and communities to advance knowledge to benefit our hospital, the pediatric profession, and the public.
- Provide dedicated service to the community to promote health broadly and to advocate for children and their families.

we have developed specific goals and objectives for service, training and technical assistance, and research so we can enhance both directly and indirectly the quality of life of children and families who seek support and assistance at Children's Hospital Boston.

Mark A. Schuster, MD, PhD, joins Children's as chief of General Pediatrics and vice chair for Health Policy Research. Dr. Schuster is a noted pediatrician and researcher in child, adolescent, and family health.
