Rheumatology Program
The Rheumatology Program at Children's Hospital Boston cares for children and adolescents with a broad range of rheumatologic and inflammatory diseases.

As one of the largest rheumatology programs in the United States, we see more than 3,000 children in our outpatient clinic each year. More than 600 children are treated on an inpatient (hospitalized) basis each year.

Our Patients
Children from throughout the U.S. and around the world are referred to Children's for expert consultation and second opinions concerning difficult or complex inflammatory conditions.

In fact, we are a national referral center for Kawasaki Disease, and are an internationally recognized center for the evaluation of unique or undiagnosed conditions.

Our Services
Children's Rheumatology Program offers the latest therapeutic approaches to treat these often painful and debilitating conditions.

Patients are seen by an experienced staff that includes adult and pediatric rheumatologists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and registered nurses. Services include:

  • Dietary counseling
  • Psychological support and therapy
Research
Our staff strives to be a leading source of research and discovery and is actively involved in studies that are improving the way children with inflammatory diseases are treated.
