The pulmonary nurses each have extensive background in the care of patients with various lung diseases. In addition to several nurses in the General Pulmonary and Cystic Fibrosis Programs, we also have one nurse who coordinates the lung transplant program and several others who primarily coordinate clinical research trials. Our pulmonary nurse specialists are available in clinic daily to help patients with questions regarding medication administration and side effects, as well as a variety of other subjects such as inhaler and nebulizer use, review of symptoms that require medical attention, etc. Pulmonary nurses also operate the health care questions line and the prescription refill line daily from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
