The program brings together specialists from many areas of medicine to address the unique needs of our adult patients. Our entire staff has extensive experience working with adults with CF.

The adult team includes:

• a group of physician providers
• dedicated nurses
• social workers
• physical therapists
• nutritionists

The team meets weekly to discuss patients and share their assessments and concerns with one another.

• Diagnostic testing such as:
  • sweat tests
  • genetic tests
  • throat cultures
  • sputum cultures
  • blood work
  • chest x-rays

• Pulmonary function tests to see how well your lungs are working

• Close monitoring of nutritional status

• Emotional support and counseling services

• Patient education regarding such things as nutrition, avoiding infections, and caring for yourself at home

• Training in airway clearance techniques and exercise regimens

• Access to patient support groups and CF community organizations

• Adult transition management
