Cystic Fibrosis Center

Each of our patients is assigned to one team of care providers. This allows more providers to get to know you and your child.

The pediatric care teams consist of:

• a group of physician providers
• two dedicated nurse leaders
• social workers
• physical therapists
• nutritionists

Teams meet biweekly to discuss patients and share their assessments and concerns with one another.

• Diagnostic testing such as:
  • sweat tests
  • genetic tests
  • throat cultures
  • sputum cultures
  • blood work
  • chest x-rays

• Pulmonary function tests to see how well your lungs are working

• Close monitoring of nutritional status

• Emotional support and counseling services

• Patient and family education regarding such things as nutrition, avoiding infections, and caring for your child at home

• Training in airway clearance techniques and exercise regimens

• Access to patient and family support groups and CF community organizations

• Adult transition management
