From interactive computer programs to group sing-alongs, Children's Hospital Boston's Center for Communication Disorders is finding new and exciting ways to help children with communication difficulties learn and interact. The staff includes speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists and computer specialists with expertise in augmentative communication. They determine communication options for patients with speech impairment and suggest the most appropriate educational technology solutions.

Since 1977, Dr. Howard Shane has been finding better solutions for children who cannot communicate. The Center Communication Disorders sees children and adults with congenital or acquired disorders like autism, cerebral palsy, traumatic brain disorders, as well as others that affect hearing, voice and speech.
