Adolescent Substance Abuse Program
Our Mission
The Adolescent Substance Abuse Program (ASAP) at Children's Hospital Boston is committed to providing exceptional care to adolescents who use substances and their families.

The program's clinicians are specially trained in the unique developmental and psychosocial challenges faced by adolescents, and have helped hundreds of teens with drug and alcohol problems.

Our Services
Assessment Treatment and Monitoring Options Referral
Comprehensive diagnostic assessment, including general health and mental health screen Individual counseling using scientifically based therapeutic approaches Individualized referral services when indicated
Family meeting to discuss diagnostic impression and therapeutic recommendations Individual parent support  
Psychopharmacology, Consultations and Assessments for adolescents with mental health difficulties in the context of substance use Scientifically based group therapy for adolescents and parents  
  Specialized psychopharmacology treatment for adolescents with drug use disorders  
  12 week random drug testing program for selected patients  
  Family meetings for siblings  
  Buprenorphine program for adolescents with opioid dependence  
Our Staff
Developmental-behavioral pediatric specialists, child & adolescent psychiatrists, licensed social workers, a physician assistant and a clinic coordinator.
