The Department of Urology request that fees be paid at the time of your visit. Checks and cash are accepted. Please observe the following guidelines so that we can more readily assist you during your visit to our office.

If you are covered by:

  • Managed Care HMO/PPO (e.g. HPHC, Tufts, BCBS) - Contact your primary care physician to send a referral to our Boston office prior to your appointment at any of our locations. If your appointment is at our Boston office, you may bring the referral with you. If you do not have a referral by the time of your visit, you will be asked to sign a waiver and required to pay a deposit at the time of the visit.

Please also bring the proper co-payment amount with you to your appointment.

  • Medicaid (Mass Health) - Bring your MassHealth card, as well as your PCC number, to verify your current eligibility at every appointment. If you do not know your PCC number, please ask your primary care physician.

  • Commercial Private Insurance - Unfortunately, certain insurance companies cannot be billed. In these cases, you are responsible for payment at the time of the visit. Upon payment, you will be issued a receipt that may be submitted to your insurance carrier for reimbursement.

  • Self-Pay - Payment-in-full is expected on the day of your visit.
Please remember, if your appointment is scheduled at one of our satellite locations and your child is insured by an HMO, to send your primary care physician's referral to our Boston office prior to your visit.

If you have any questions, please call the Department of Urology's business office at 617-355-8338 or email Betsy Taft. We will be happy to assist you.
