  • Training regarding caring for your baby at home

  • Coordinating care with other specialists at Children's (e.g., Otolaryngology, Gastroenterology, Cardiology)
Home equipment
Many of our patients require medical technology to help them breath, including:
  • nasal cannula oxygen
  • full and partial mechanical ventilation
  • tracheostomy
  • non-invasive ventilatory supports
  • assistive respiratory devices for cough and lung clearance
We work closely with home equipment companies to ensure that equipment is working properly (e.g., troubleshoot problems, adjust ventilator settings, etc.).
Family-centered care
We recognize the central role of families in the care of children with chronic respiratory problems. In fact, we encourage family participation and work closely with family members and the child's primary care physician to set goals and provide care.
