The Swensrud Depression Prevention Initiative and Family Connections works with the CHNP at Children's Hospital Boston to ensure that health care providers are trained to recognize and help prevent mental illness in children and their parents.

The Swensrud Depression Prevention Initiative (SDPI)

SDPI offers professional development and on-site consultation services directed at the prevention and early identification of depression and other mental health problems in children and adolescents. Through the use of curriculum tools and training conferences, the SDPI helps schools build wellness into their core curriculum.
