Clinical Services (Brain Tumor Program):
Why Choose Us
  • We are the largest pediatric brain and spinal cord tumor program in New England.

  • Our world-class pediatric neurosurgeons and pediatric neuro-oncologists are entirely focused on treating young children and adolescents with brain tumors. Additional team members provide a rare degree of specialization, including pediatric neurology, neuropathology, radiation oncology and neuroradiology.

  • Our brain and spinal cord tumor team places your child at the center of a team effort. During each visit to the Stop & Shop Family Pediatric Brain Tumor Clinic, each member of your child's primary health care team will examine your child. After each visit, the specialists will meet to discuss and coordinate your child's health care plan.

  • We are a member and one of the founding institutions of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Consortium, a research group focused on advancing treatments for childhood brain tumors. Because of our internally-initiated medical studies and research group affiliations, we offer many treatments unavailable at other institutions. We are also a member of the Children's Oncology Group Phase I Program, which offers novel experimental treatments for pediatric brain tumor patients.

  • The integrated Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Children's Hospital Boston program provides comprehensive care by teaming brain tumor experts with pediatric medical experts from more than 30 subspecialty areas.

  • We offer many family support services to help our patients and their families, including parent and sibling support groups, psychological and pastoral support, and access to social workers and a dedicated resource specialist dedicated to help families meet any needs that may arise.

  • Our School Liaison and Back to School Programs promote success in the classroom by helping children address intellectual and motor function changes caused by their treatment.

  • For families traveling to Boston, we can help find housing at our local Ronald McDonald House or at Children's Devon Nicole House.

  • We provide long-term care for more than 900 childhood brain tumor survivors through the Stop & Shop Family Neuro-Oncology Outcomes Clinic, which helps survivors of all ages address late-effects caused by brain tumors and their treatments.
