The Gastroenterology and Nutrition Department at Children's Hospital Boston is one of the first pediatric gastroenterology programs in the country and now has eight satellite offices serving the community.
The Division has more than thirty staff physicians and scientists with faculty appointments at Harvard Medical School, fifteen clinical and research fellows, more than 30 clinical dietitians and a full complement of administrative and technical personnel.
The faculty and fellows regularly attract major research support from the National Institutes of Health, the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation and a number of other agencies. Four past presidents of the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (NASPGHAN) have been Children's doctors, and the faculty are the recipients of prestigious training and research awards, including four winners of the Shwachmann Award, the highest award of the NASPGHAN.
