Effect of hepatitis C on insulin resistance in children

Trial Description: This is a study of insulin and blood sugar in children with chronic hepatitis C. In adults, hepatitis C is associated with diabetes.  We are trying to learn if there is a similar association in children.  We are also studying some children without hepatitis C to compare results.  Blood will be obtained for study testing when blood is being drawn for other reasons.

Recruitment Info: The patient must be less than 30 years of age, have chronic hepatitis C and not be receiving treatment.  Further details are available on request.
