Principal Investigator: Scott Elisofon, MD
Department: Gastroenterology, Center for Childhood Liver Disease
Protocol Status: Open for Recruitment
Trial Description: The SPLIT Registry is a multi-center, observational, longitudinal study that will collect prospective data on children receiving liver transplantation. The objective of this study is to improve outcomes in children receiving liver transplants by collecting data that can serve as a foundation for the development of targeted clinical studies, whether quality improvement studies or clinical trials. Our aims will be to:
- To collect prospective data from pediatric liver transplant centers which permit us to identify opportunities to improve 30 day outcomes.
- To prospectively collect data from pediatric liver transplant survivors more than one year after transplant so as identify emerging outcomes, clarify predictors for known outcome and identify best practice. Analyses of the data set will guide quality improvement efforts and patient-based research and serve to help use prevent and mitigate immune and non-immune complications.
Recruitment Info: The patient must be less than 18 years of age at the time of transplant and have received a liver-only, a combined liver-kidney, or a combined liver-pancreas transplant
