Ophthalmology

Gordon Dutton is a Consultant Paediatric Ophthalmologist working at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Glasgow, Scotland. He is one of three Ophthalmologists providing a service to a population of 2 million people. By far, the commonest type of visual impairment in children which he sees is that due to damage to the brain ranging from cerebral blindness to children with 20/20 vision but significant perceptual and cognitive visual dysfunction. For this reason, it has become a special interest and the Vision Assessment Team has described a wide range of visual disorders and strategies to help the children.
