Orthopedic Research
John F. Enders Pediatric Research Laboratories Children's Department of Orthopedic Surgery takes great pride in our basic science and clinical research leaders who are recognized throughout the world for their respective achievements.

For over a century, orthopedic surgeons and investigators at Children's have played a vital role in the field of musculoskeletal research, pioneering treatment approaches and major advances in the care and treatment of ailments such as polio, tuberculosis, scoliosis, hip dysplasia's, and traumas to the hand and upper extremities.

Children's orthopedic research team is comprised of

  • 5 full time basic scientists
  • over 10 clinical investigators
  • full complement of research coordinators, and statisticians
  • Clinical Effectiveness Research Center
    Clinical research and trials are coordinated through the Clinical Effectiveness Research Center (CERC), a collaborative program focusing on conditions of the hip, spine, hand and upper extremity and orthopedic trauma.

    Our basic science laboratories, located in the John Enders Pediatric Research Building, have trained some of the leading musculoskeletal researchers in the nation.
