Event Coverage
Physicians are available to provide medical coverage of all sporting events on a scheduled basis as needed. Pre-season physicals for athletes are provided by appointment only. Coverage for mass participation sporting events is also available.

Image Boston Ballet
The Division of Sports Medicine provides comprehensive medical coverage for Boston Ballet, one of the leading professional dance companies in North America with more than 50 full-time, top-trained dancers and an internationally-acclaimed repertoire. In addition, through a unique partnership with the Division of Sports Medicine, students from Boston Ballet's summer dance program -- one of the premier ballet training programs in the nation -- receive physical therapy from Children's specialists who are experts in dance-specific injuries.
Image Boston Marathon
The Division of Sports Medicine has been assisting with medical coverage at the finish line for the Boston Marathon for the past 30 years. Dr. Micheli - author of Healthy Runner's Handbook - and the Division's other specialists who provide care at the race give the Boston Marathon, which has one of the lowest injury rates, a team of experts that runners trust.
Image Bay State Games
The Division of Sports Medicine provides volunteer staff and medical coordination for this Massachusetts Amateur Sports Foundation, Inc. event. Children's Hospital Boston is the designated trauma center for the games.

Boston Public School Sports Medicine Initiative
The Division of Sports Medicine's staff and orthopedic residents coordinate and supervise medical coverage for BPS sporting events.

Dr. Lyle Micheli accepts a donation on behalf of Children's Hospital from the 2005 United States Synchronized Team Skating Championships.
Other coverage has included Cirque du Soleil, US Figure Skating Championships, McDonald's All-America basketball tournament, Broadway shows, and the Gaelic Games National Championship.
