- headache

- difficulty concentrating
- double or fuzzy vision
Did You Know?
From the US Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
- Each year, as many as 3.8 million sports- and recreation-related concussions occur in this country.
- Athletes who have had at least on concussion are at increased risk for another concussion.
- A repeat concussion that happens before the brain fully recovers from the first can result in brainswelling, permanent brain damade and even death. This is called second impact syndrome.

- William Meehan, MD, has just authored the first comprehensive guide for non-medical professionals on the subject of concussions. "Kids, Sports, and Concussion: A Guide for Coaches and Parents" hit bookstores in April.
- Pierre d'Hemecourt, MD, gave a presentation at Gillette Stadium for a symposium titled Concussion and the Athlete where he spoke about on the field management of the head injured athlete.
- Pierre d'Hemecourt, MD, William Meehan, MD, and Michelle Parker, MS, CPNP, are introduced in Pediatric Views, a Children's Hospital Boston publication.
- Bill Meehan, MD, wrote an article about the seriousness of concussions in the MetroWest Daily News.
