This helpful brochure will provide you with tips for wearing your shoes correctly to prevent injuries!
With the help of Dr. Thomas Vorderer two recent Northeastern University graduates created this 3-fold pamphlet for their Senior Capstone Project. They came up with the idea due to the lack of programs in place to make sure consumers are educated about buying a properly fitted pair of shoes. The majority of the general population buys sneakers that are too big resulting in many injuries and problems. This simple concise brochure offers preventive education to reduce injury.

    Platelet Rich Plasma
We are now considering the latest in tendon regeneration with the application of Platelet Rich Plasma. This process has been popular in Europe and has been getting a lot of attention in the United States to enhance tissue regeneration in difficult to heel areas such as tendons. There are many healing growth factors normally in our platelets. The process involves drawing off the patients own blood and isolating the platelets that contain these growth factors. This is then injected into the affected areas with ultrasound guidance. Examples would incude degeneration of the achilles, tennis elbow and patella tendonosis that do not respond to traditional management of physical therapy and activity modification. This special procedure is performed by Pierre d'Hemecourt, MD under ultrasound guidance.
