Welcome to the Children's Hospital Boston nursing publications/research website. The Nursing Department
continually strives to improve clinical care within a family-centered environment, to reach the highest level
of patient safety, to provide evidence-based care in a compassionate manner and to add to the nursing knowledge
base. This resource aims to share our nursing expertise and scholarship.
WHAT IS IN THE DATABASE:
The database is continuously updated and includes materials published from 2007 to present. The types of items include:
journal articles
books
book chapters
poster presentations displayed at local, national or international professional meetings
teaching presentations
substantive patient education materials
current nursing research
While many nurses are members of clinical trials research teams, the research projects in this
database include only those specifically focused on nursing practice.
HOW TO RETRIEVE DOCUMENTS LOCATED IN THE DATABASE:
For some item types such as journal articles, you will retrieve summary information about the article.
To obtain the entire article/book chapter, you can request the item from your local hospital or public library.
Some item types such as poster presentations include the full-text online. For other item types such as the
patient education materials, the nurse author's contact information is available.
