Disney comes to Children's
Patient Michael Pietroniro received a surprise visit from Mickey Mouse, Daisy Duck and Donald Duck on 7 South this Halloween. Two out of ten winners of Prudential Spirit of Community Award Children's Patients
Elisabeth Sacco, 14, of Barrington, R.I., and Lauren Stanford, 13, of Plymouth, Mass., both patients of Children's Hospital Boston, were named two of America's top ten volunteers for 2005. The awards are given by Prudential Financial to 10 middle and high school students from across the nation, annually. Out of more than 20,000 youth volunteers, Elisabeth and Lauren's extraordinary efforts in helping others through volunteerism stood out.

General Colin Powell, USA (Ret.), U.S. Secretary of State (2001-2004), presented the awards and congratulated the students on their achievements, "These young people embody the leadership skills that will help make a better community, a better nation, and a better world. They are the leaders of tomorrow and collectively, they are setting the course of our global future."
