Children's champions

Red Sox President and CEO Larry Lucchino (left) and Children's Hospital Boston President and CEO James Mandell, MD (center), joined Red Sox pitcher Tim Wakefield (right) at the Champions for Children's event on Tuesday, Nov. 15. This dinner and auction—generously supported by all five professional Boston sports teams—raised $2.8 million to benefit Children's. Wakefield, along with New England Patriot Matt Light and Celtics legend Jo Jo White, received the Champion Award, recognizing athletes for their off-field contributions to the community.
