Helping local athletes
Children's Hospital Boston's Inner City Sports Medicine Initiative, a joint project by the Department of Orthpaedic Surgery and the Division of Sports Medicine, provides specialized medical care to young urban athletes. For the past two seasons, residents from the Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Residency Program have provided full medical coverage for the athletes at Boston public high school football games. The group hopes to expand coverage beyond football games to include a range of sports for boys and girls.
