Recognizing a pioneer


George Daley, MD, PhD

eorge Daley, MD, PhD, associate director of the Stem Cell/Developmental Biology Research Program, was awarded one of nine inaugural Pioneer Awards by the Director of the National Institutes of Health. The award provides $500,000 per year for five years "to a select few exceptionally creative investigators, to pursue innovative, unexplored avenues of research that may carry a relatively high potential for failure, but also possess a greater potential to produce tomorrow's conceptual and technological breakthroughs."
