Election connection
On October 14, Jay Hallisey (right) took to the voting booth to cast his ballot. But instead of voting for President, Jay got to choose his favorite Boston sports team and ice cream flavor. Jay was one of several young voters who took part in the Office of Child Advocacy's Election Connection Fair. The event featured educational materials for voters and gave employees, patients and visitors a chance to register to vote.

Educating our patients
Children's Hospital Boston hosted an Education Fair in the Patient Entertainment Center on October 7. The event provided an opportunity for teen and young adult patients and families to learn about opportunities for higher education. The fair featured two guest speakers who shared their experiences as patients and a college students. Representatives from colleges, universities and trade schools were also on hand.

Thanks to positive feedback from staff, patients and schools, the Education Fair committee is already working on the event for next year.
