CHB buys second Autumn St. building

[ printer-friendly version ]

ast month, Children’s announced an agreement with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) to purchase the Kennedy Building at One Autumn St. located on the corner of Longwood Ave. and the Riverway.

While plans for the space usage are still being finalized, the six-story, 73,433-square-foot building is expected to relieve some of the congestion at the hospital’s main site. This additional space will be primarily used for administrative functions, making room for expansion of clinical services at the main campus.

This is the second time in two years that Children’s has purchased a building from BIDMC. In 2001, the hospital bought 21 Autumn St., which is next door to One Autumn.
