| Carleen Brunelli, PhD, MBA |
Carleen Brunelli, PhD, MBA,
is the hospital's new vice president of Research Administration.
She comes from M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Texas, where she served
as associate vice president for Research Administration. Brunelli
will oversee the research administrative infrastructure and support
Bruce Zetter, PhD, chief Scientific officer, and
Voula Osganian, MD, PhD, MPH, director of the Clinical
Research Program, as their respective programs continue their robust
growth.
Mark Marcantano
has been named the new vice president for Ambulatory and Network
Services. He comes to Children's Hospital Boston from Albany Medical
College/Albany Medical Center in New York, where he served as executive
dean, senior vice president and chief operating officer. He started
at Children's on October 4.
David DeMaso, MD,
has been named the new psychiatrist-in-chief, while William
Beardslee, MD, who served as chief since 1995, continues
as the department's academic chair. In these new roles, DeMaso will
have administrative and oversight responsibility for the department's
clinical, training and research activities, while Beardslee will
focus on mentoring young staff, conducting research, continuing
his community outreach and increasing his childhood mental health
advocacy work.
In addition to his responsibilities as psychiatrist-in-chief, DeMaso
will continue as director of the Office of Clinician Support, which
is an innovative assistance program for employees and trainees who
do clinical work with patients at Children's. Beardslee, meanwhile,
has been deeply committed to developing practical, real-world approaches
to the prevention of depression in families and to understanding
how children do well when faced with difficult adversities such
as poverty.
