Congratulations to Ana Serrano, who has been chosen as the very first employee of the month as part of Human Resources' Exceptional Care Exceptional Service (ECES) recognition program. Serrano works at Children's Hospital Boston at Waltham as a clinical assistant in the inpatient unit and truly exemplifies the ECES standards. One of her workers summed it up when she said, "Everyone needs an Ana in their department."
Serrano was instrumental in getting Waltham's inpatient unit up and running and continues to tackle tasks both large and small with gusto, from ordering supplies and covering lunches to providing support to patient families. "She's enthusiastic, teaches others what she knows and always goes the extra mile to make sure everyone is well cared for," says Cindy Gardell, RN, MSN, MBA, nurse manager of Waltham's Inpatient Specialty Clinic, and one of the people who nominated her. "She's definitely a role model for all of us."
