In the Mix

In only its second year, the Mix 98-5 Cares for Kids Radiothon raised $918,000 for Children's Hospital Boston—nearly doubling the funds raised last year.

The event, held July 8 and 9 in the Patient Entertainment Center, featured Mix on-air talent, including John Lander, Neal White, Kelly Malone, Wendy Filosi, Erin O'Malley, Tom Mitchell and Tad Bonvie.

In addition to callers making pledges, 300 listeners became "Change Bandits," offering to "rob" friends and family members of their spare change. The bandits collected $15,000 toward the $918,000 total.

All funds raised through the Radiothon benefit the Children's Fund, supporting the hospital's areas of greatest need. Thank you to everyone who made the event a success, including employees who volunteered, patients who shared their stories with Mix listeners and all who made pledges.
