Waltham has gone to the ducks

Children's Hospital Boston at Waltham recently welcomed 12 new baby ducklings to their campus. However, the duck family, which has been residing in the reflecting pond, decided to relocate to the river across the street shortly thereafter. So Children's at Waltham security guard, Brendan, stopped traffic to allow them safe passage to their new home.

CHAMPS update

-Phase 2A (Nursing Documentation and Basic Ambulatory Documentation) of the CHAMPS project is on track to Go Live on September 8, 2006!

-Phase 2B (Provider Order Entry/EMAR/Meds Process) is set to follow with a Go Live in Winter 2007.

-Training for 2A begins on July 28th and will continue throughout August.

-All nurses and clinical assistants will be required to attend an instructor-led training session, tailored to the specific needs workflows of their area.

-Other users, who will not be documenting in PowerChart (AA's and other clinicians), will have the option of learning about the new features on their own, using the web-based training or attending instructor-led classes (What's New in CHAMPS).

These classes are now available for sign up through NetLearning in the CHAMPS curriculum.

Classes are filling up fast and we encourage all nurses and clinical assistants to enroll as soon as possible.

Intro to PowerChart classes and Web Based Training modules (previously known in Phase 1 as CHAMPS Results Viewing Training) will continue to be offered and may be accessed through NetLearning.

Please continue to check the CHAMPS Web site (http://web2.tch.harvard.edu/champs/) for project updates and training information.
