JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge
A team from Children's Hospital Boston recently ran in the annual JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge. The team, comprised of nurses and physicians from the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, braved tropical heat and humidity to run the 3.5-mile course through the streets of downtown Boston. Running shirts were specially designed by Nelson Aquino, RN, for the event, ensuring that the hospital was well represented in the field of over 12,000 runners.
Bringing home the bacon
Materials handler Jamal Lucas won the $5,000 Employee Referral Raffle, held on Friday, June 10 in Human Resources. Lucas's name was pulled from a hat filled with approximately 150 employee names, all of whom had successfully referred a new hire at Children's Hospital Boston in the last 18 months. Lucas was very surprised and thrilled to find out he had won. And according to his manager, Robert Gauthier, "It couldn't have happened to a nicer guy."
The current Employee Referral Program (ERP) started in March 2004 and pays $500 for all referrals, $1000 for Nursing and those "hard to fill" positions. Stay tuned for a new ERP to be launched this fall.
