Patient Antonetta Remedi-Brown, age 7, represented Massachusetts on Capitol Hill May 1 and 2 at the Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Networks' Kid's Congress, which is trying to introduce food allergy legislation in schools. She was one of 12 children from Massachusetts, several of whom are patients in Children's Hospital Boston's Allergy and Immunology Clinic. Antonetta got to meet with senators John Kerry and Edward Kennedy as part of her visit to Washington, DC.

recognized leading benefactors from participating North American children's hospitals.
For the second year in a row, comedians from the Improv Asylum donated their talent to lift the spirits of teenage patients when they took center stage in the Patient Entertainment Center, performing hilarious skits and soliciting feedback from the audience.
On May 7, families of children who require mental health services joined Lt. Governor Tim Murray and legislative sponsors Rep. Ruth Balser and Sen. Steven Tolman to address the importance of new legislation to reform children's mental health care in Massachusetts. The event was held in advance of a formal hearing about the legislation, which was based on a report by Children's and the Mass. Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Children.
On May 3, Children's hosted its fourth World Asthma Day Community Health Fair in the Patient Entertainment Center. Information on asthma and other health topics was given out to the many attendees, and nurses and nurse practitioners staffed an "Ask the Expert" booth.
