Bertha Terlecki, RN, Operating Room
Bertha worked for a short time at the Carney Hospital prior to being hired in the Operating Room at Children's. Bertha demonstrated expertise in every surgical service and was appointed to a leadership position in the Otolaryngology Surgical Service. She has been an excellent preceptor to many new staff over time and has supported clinical management efforts. Bertha continues to work in the Operating Room but has a primary role in the Preoperative Holding Area, where her extensive surgical background and knowledge is a great asset. Bertha's expertise, organizational skills, positive attitude and approach, collaborative skills, and her compassion and caring for patient's and families are great attributes in this area where there she is working with a large number of interdisciplinary colleagues and a diverse and complex patient population. She said last week, "and after all these years, I am still looking forward to coming to work here every day".
