Gratitudes
To whom it may concern,
A few months ago, my family was at Children's Hospital Boston for an appointment for my 2-year-old son, who's been seen at Children's regularly. We were waiting to see the doctor, and you could see that all the patients and their families in the waiting room were as tense and nervous as my family was.
Then, out of nowhere, we heard this ringing and loud talking coming down the hall. My wife said, 'Can you believe this?' and so I turned to look and saw two clowns with Christmas lights enter the room.
They came into the area right by my family, and my children were instantly hooked. These two clowns from the Clown Care Unit entertained the room with those lights and the funniest rendition of "Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer" for roughly 30 minutes. I even found myself getting involved. We haven't laughed that much in a long time.
These clowns made a tense time for my family just seem to disappear—watching not only the clowns but also the expressions on all these sick children's faces. I wanted to pass along my sincerest appreciation for the work they do every day to make what could be the worst time in a family's life be that much easier and happier.
