What's the SCOOP?

Marathons, puppies, and more

One hundred fifty-one runners laced up their sneakers and hit the road for Children's Hospital Boston as participants in the 110th Boston Marathon on Monday, April 17. Paired with 100 patient partners to inspire and motivate them, the amazing team raised $1 million to support Children's.

Child Life Services hosted their annual Puppy Pre-op event on Tuesday, April 25 in the Patient Entertainment Center to celebrate Child Life Week. Children walked their own stuffed animals, and those provided by Child Life, through a typical hospital experience. The stuffed animals were "admitted" to the hospital, where they saw the doctor, had their vital signs and X-rays taken, had blood drawn and were fitted with a cast.

Children's has officially gone wireless! The hospital's Patient and Family Wireless Hotspots are now available in the inpatient and outpatient areas, the cafeteria, Center for Families and Patient Entertainment Center. This free wireless Internet access is intended for patients, families and visitors with legitimate hospital business. Because this is an open public network, ISD recommends that subscribers use personal antivirus, firewall or VPN software. For more information, visit: http://ehelp/ehelp_wireless_pfn.html.
