| Marcia Libman RN, MS,
Nursing and Patient Services
Marcia came to Children’s Hospital Boston in January of 1972 as
a co-op student while attending Northeastern University’s Nursing
program. Thirty years later she is still with us and this place
is far better for having her here!
In August of 1974 Marcia began work as a staff nurse here at Children’s
and was promoted to staff nurse II in 1980 and staff nurse III in
1988. As a level III staff nurse, Marcia established herself as
an expert. She has continued to evolve her practice as an expert
in the role of Patient Care Coordinator, a position that she assumed
in 1993.
Never one to sit on her laurels or be satisfied with the status
quo, Marcia is constantly striving to be all that she can be. Her
ability to foster care delivered by staff nurses, many years her
junior in a way that is supportive, educational and always makes
them feel like they came up with the answer on their own, is the
hallmark of an expert practitioner. In every role she has assumed
Marcia was and still is the ultimate resource, highly respected
by her colleagues, she is part of the fabric of the Inpatient Medical
Program. We are blessed to have her in the profession of nursing.
