May S. Jacobson, PhD, has spent her entire professional career as a Research Associate in the Children’s Hospital Transfusion Service.

Throughout these years she has participated in numerous studies relating to the storage of red blood cells and platelets. These include the development of new plastic formulations, which have extended the storage of platelets for up to five days.

She has also provided to the Division of Hematology and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute her clinical expertise in the performance of red cell and platelet survival studies.
