lushing
brides know that a meaningful wedding lies in the details. For Marie
Kehoe, who works in the Children’s Hospital Trust, that
meant celebrating her and her fiancŽ Chris’s Irish heritage with
a March wedding, green bridesmaids dresses, and claddagh-themed
centerpieces. It also meant sharing a memorable favor with their
guests—a tribute gift to help Children’s patients.
“We asked ourselves ‘Do we want to send our guests home with a
candle, or do we want to make it personal?’” Kehoe says. “So we
made a donation to the hematology/oncology resource room in honor
of my grandfather and Chris’s grandmother, both of whom passed away
in the last three years from cancer.”
Kehoe was motivated to make the donation because she truly believes
in the hospital’s mission. “Knowing how great the programs are,
and how much caregivers invest in their jobs made me want to help
the hospital even more,” she says. “I can see firsthand that even
though my gift isn’t huge, it can have an impact on our patients
and families.”
Children’s Special Occasion Favor program allows hosts to make
charitable gifts to the hospital in honor of memorable occasions.
Cards notifying guests that a gift has been made in their honor
are available for $20 per pack of 10. For more information, contact
Sarah Keblin at ext. 5-8126 or sarah.keblin@chtrust.org.
