Since 1996, runners of all abilities have committed to raising money for Children's Hospital Boston in exchange for an application to run the Boston Marathon. This year, 150 people are running for Children's Miles for Miracles marathon team, including nurses, doctors, and other hospital employees. The team is on track to meet its $1 million goal, bringing the 10-year fundraising total to just under $7 million. That's $7 million that's improving the work being done for kids!
A special part of Children's Miles for Miracles team is the pairing of runners with Children's patients. This year, nearly 100 patients will be along the course cheering for their runners. (See "Connecting through the Boston Marathon" on page 7.) Consider joining the fun Monday, April 17. Look for Children's cheering stations at the following locations:
Wellesley, Town Hall
At the junction of Route 135 and Route 16, after the 13-mile mark, in front of the Town Hall.
Runners expected: 1 to 4 p.m.
Brookline, Bretton Realty
In front of St. Mary's T stop on the MBTA Green line (C train), at 1001 Beacon Street, a quarter mile before the 25-mile mark. Runners expected: 1:30 to 5 p.m.
